Weiss Aurora Borealis Demi-Parure

This opulant demi-parure was made by Weiss in the 1940s.  It consists of a circular brooch and clip earrings both featuring stunning pink aurora borealis rhinestones set in goldtone metal.

Weiss was a costume jewelry company founded by Albert Weiss in NYC in the 1940s and ceased operations in 1971.  Weiss was a much smaller company than Coro or Trifari, but they offered a well-made line of jewelry, including high-end and collectible designs like this set featured here today.

  1. So pretty, I think I have some similar jewelry from my grandmother. How do you know who makes this stuff? Is there a stamp on it somewhere?

  2. Hey Tracey!

Thanks for asking...and reading my post! Well, in regards the items you see here, the brooch does not have a mark, but the earrings are marked "WEISS." I bought them together, and they obviously match, so that is how I knew the pin was also made by Weiss. So, the answer to your questions is: sometimes well-made, collectible costume jewelry is unmarked. What I have learned through my research is often very early pieces by many manufacturers are unmarked.

I hope that answers your questions! Feel free to ask more.

    Miss you,

    Michele aka Mig
